History Matters Public Lecture Series
History Matters Public Lecture Series
The Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society and the Halifax Public Library are proud to present History Matters, a public lecture series designed to share important historical research to the general public. Join us for riveting discussions hosted by academics, graduate students, independent scholars, museum workers, archivists, and many others who are working to preserve and promote Nova Scotian history.
These lectures are typically hosted on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00PM.
Unless otherwise specified, they are held in the Lindsay Children’s Room on the 2nd floor at the Halifax Central Library, 5440 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
If you can’t make it to the Halifax Central Library, all lectures are presented virtually on zoom. Please ensure your mic is off during the virtual presentation and if you have any questions for the presenter, please use the chat function. Want to ask a question in advance? You can forward a question to info@rnshs.ca
For a full list of forthcoming talks, specific dates and times, location information, and zoom links for virtual attendance, please check out the “Upcoming Lectures” page.
Have an idea for a lecture? Please contact society at info@rnshs.ca. In your email, let us know the topic of your proposed talk, share with us a bit about yourself, and let us know if you are interested in pursuing publication with the Journal of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society.
